"Attachment to the landscape has come up in a number of my projects, but it was only formulated during a study for the small town of Kumihama in Japan. I am still attached to this landscape designed within the existing landscape." (Andreu)ln 1998, Paul Andreu carried out a study for the construction of a golf course in Kumihama, a fishing village near Kyoto. The design included a clubhouse, hotel and residential complex. The project was made up of small facilities nestled among the leafy hills that already composed the site. The design affirms its presence while blending into the landscape and making use of its rolling silhouette.
