14 Apr - 17 May 2014
The event is over
Continuing its "Cinéastes en correspondance" series, the Centre Pompidou presents the filmed correspondence between Wang Bing and his friend Jaime Rosales. Wang Bing made a name for himself with West of the Tracks (2004) as one of the most important film directors on the international scene. Jaime Rosales' output consists to date of four feature films, which have been shown at leading festivals, including Dream and Silence, presented at Cannes in 2012. At the same time as the complete retrospectives offered by the Centre Pompidou of the two directors' work, Wang Bing is presenting a completely new installation and works created exclusively for the event. For the opening, which brings the two artists together – an almost unheard of event! – there will be showings of Red Land, Jaime Rosales' letter to Wang Bing, and Wang Bing's Three Sisters, which follows the daily lives of Ying Ying and her two sisters in the high mountains of China.
Red Land (2011, 20’), by Jaime Rosales /Three Sisters (2013, 153’), by Wang Bing, both previews / Opening session presented by Wang Bing and Jaime Rosales
