Jaime Rosales came to the fore in 2009 with Bullet in the Head, which treated the bombings in Madrid in a fairly contentious way. The theme of violence erupting into everyday life is frequently explored by Spanish director. Dream and Silence, which evokes in finely-worked black and white the grief of a family after the accidental death of a little girl, also reflects this questioning approach. "For Rosales, a fictional work is more than ever the total of various artistic experiences. He proves it with this film carved in granite, where his gestures as a carver reflect the mystery of a stone dream," wrote Sandrine Marquès about Dream and Silence (Le Monde, 2 October 2012).
Dream and Silence (2012, 110’), by Jaime Rosales/Session followed by a meeting between Jaime Rosales and Edouard Waintrop (subject to availability).
