The Centre Pompidou is paying tribute to Paul Destribats (1926-2017) whose exceptional collection of 12,000 “Petits papiers” (manifestos, tracts, posters, programmes, etc.) recently joined the Kandinsky Library collections thanks to a major donation, to go with the stunning series of avant-garde reviews compiled by Destribats and acquired as a National Treasure in 2005 thanks to the support of the Lagardère group.

The passionate and erudite collector gathered these "Petits papiers" together methodically and obstinately over nearly fifty years, enabling us to discover and comprehend the fundamental role of publications of all sorts in the construction of the most radical avant-gardes. They highlight the unique graphic and literary creativity of these publications and, as such, are an important addition to the Musée National d’Art Moderne.
