"The circle "image" is the inclusion of totality. The spiral is an open circle on an infinite development." (Réquichot)
While working on his "reliquaries" in 1959, Bernard Réquichot assembled plastic curtain rings purchased in a shop to produce this creature resembling a cyclops. His circumvolutions evoke intestinaI coils, which are not unrelated to the artist' s interest in organic waste gleaned from his visits to knacker's yards. The title is a reference to his poetic experiments, in which the incantatory rhythm of the sounds dominates to the exclusion of meaning.
