“Why not a cuit of voluptuousness. Voluptuousness, which so closely resembles the beatitude of death." (Molinier)
First a house painter before becoming an artist and an early adept of occultism and secret societies, Pierre Molinier contacted André Breton in 1955. For the theorist of Surrealism who introduced him to his first taste of fame, Molinier was the “ master of vertigo” whose work cou Id not "be more disturbing”. A long inscription similar to those of certain fraternities figured on the back of the work. This painting entitled is an evocation of succubi but also, according to the artist, "an act of faith"
