"We simply extracted elements from the history of architecture to present them in a new light as a living force." (Rossi)
Three years later, Arduino Cantàfora, Aldo Rossi, Eraldo Consolascio, Bruno Reichlin and Fabio Reinhardt presented a second version of La Città Analoga at the 1976 Venice Biennale. To produce this collage, Rossi drew on a work by Canaletto dating from 1759, in which the painter juxtaposed projects by Palladio. Based on the notion of the ideal city described by Vitruvius and ancient city plans, he inserted a heterogeneous architectural ensemble, which included Le Corbusier's Chapelle de Ronchamp.
