Extract from the entry on “hors de combat”: “France, May-June 1940. The anti-tank guns rapidly placed in a battery proved to be too light to act effectively against the heavily-armoured British tanks and most of them were put out of commission by hostile artillery, as well as their operators, before being crushed by the armoured enemy.”
