"I am an architect, yet I have never made the slightest distinction between architecture, painting and sculpture." (Monnet)
These decorative panels originally adorned the cupboards of the leather goods shop Livia Levi in Milan, for which Gianni Monnet designed the decoration with architect Tito Bassanesi Varisco. The range of primordial forms and the curved elements with circular and ellipsoidal patterns reveal the cosmic values specific to the Milanese artistic context in the 1950s. With these spatial geometric configurations, the artist stayed true to the spirit of the synthesis of the arts upheld by the Movimento Arte Concreta.
