Erratic but precise, a lasso line floats in the blue space with some shards of striking colours.
ln order to concentrate on paintings with abstract titles that marked the conclusion of his great cycle of "dream paintings" begun in 1925, Joan Miró isolated himself in his rue Tourlaque studio in Paris in January 1927. Painting belongs to one of the series, known as Fratellini. Azure blue gives way to an ultramarine blue that is saturated and compact. It defines an active space in which suggestive punctuations combine. ln a great economy of means, the black pointed sign dynamically thwarts the tension in the face of emptiness.
