Fauteuil B 35
1929
"I also wanted to achieve a limpidity of form with a view to both visual and physical lightness" (Breuer)
Less geometric than Marcel Breuer's previous productions, Fauteuil B35
[B35 Armchair ], while retaining a stripped-back rectangular frame, offers greater amplitude and flexibility. Thanks to the armrests and inclined back, this piece is more ergonomic and favours the introduction of furniture using industrial materials into salons and living rooms. Breuer's furniture started to be mass produced as early as 1929 and still is today by the Thonet company, which originally specialised in the curved wood of bistro chairs.
