Raoul Hausmann enthuses about the Russian painter's brightly coloured works in Herwarth Walden's very active Galerie Der Sturm in Berlin. lt was there that he discovered the Expressionism that remained his reference model until 1917. The painter adopts vigorous gesture that carries the rider and his mount away in an ardent movement and strengthen their emotional relationship.
