"Our generation has tried to identify the common thread with which the fabric of Indian architecture was woven in the past and discover its meaning for our time." (Rewal)
Recognised as one of the major architects of South-East Asia, Raj Rewal forged a trailblazing path between modernism in the West and Indian tradition. His use of regular grid patterns that he multiplies as desired offers great flexibility of use for the structures he designs and a low overall cost. His works are varied in nature and range from quality housing made to be accessible to as many people as possible to the Hall of Nations and the Asian Games Village in New Delhi.
