Elrod composes his abstract paintings with the help of computers. They are hybrids between manual and digital, gesture and automatism.Jeff Elrod first draws his shapes using Photoshop or lllustrator software, sometimes leaving visual accidents to chance. He then transposes the resulting motifs onto the canvas, using acrylic or aerosol paint, as well as direct printing. This painting, saturated with lines and blurring effects, disturbs vision and creates an illusion of depth that is typical of digital imaging. Elrod's work establishes a unique link between the history of abstraction and the age of new technologies.
