Table à jouets
circa 1923
ln 1923, Chareau exhibited a "children's corner" in the Salon of the Society of Decorative Artists, of which he was a member.
Characterised by the netting for storing away toys under the table top, this table highlights Chareau's interest in the mobility of his furniture. Here, in addition to the classic leaves for a circular topped table, the nets are attached to supports so that they can be stored away under the top and the contents can be removed when supports are drawn out. Like those of the changing table, the legs of this table have an original design: their shafts are slightly truncated, as if to represent the distribution of weight.
