Les Noms du Christ

The event is over
In 2011, Albert Serra was given carte blanche by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona (MACBA) to develop a television series to mark an exhibition. His project, made up of 14 parts, all shown here together, addresses the complexity of obtaining funding for “difficult films”. He presents parallels between religious asceticism and artistic creation. Serra addresses the challenge of the process of translation, from literature to film, from film to museum and from museum to television. This series, previously unseen in France, encapsulates the entirety of his work. The Names of Christ (2011, 3hr30) preceded by Bauça (2009, 6') by Albert Serra
