Vidéodanse 2011

Une histoire de la danse en 250 films

23 Nov 2011 - 2 Jan 2012

The event is over

The show must go on, Jérôme Bel

Spread over 6 weeks, Vidéodanse presents a history of 20th and 21st century dance through 250 films that shine the spotlight on the work of 150 choreographers. This is a unique occasion to get an overview of choreographic creation, to spot emerging forms or to rediscover the various movements which make up its history. Planes by Trisha Brown will be presented in the Forum - 1 of the Centre Pompidou as well as the interactive installation If/then. The latter invites the spectator to imitate the movements filmed according to a choreographic logic defined by Richard Siegal. Captured and analysed in real time thanks to a piece of software designed by Ircam, the image of the user/experimenter replaces that of the visitor in a database of progressive movements, and then becomes a model itself.
