Vive l'amour
08 Dec 2022
The event is over
The story of three characters: a woman living alone who desperately needs to be loved, a homosexual who longs to fall in love and young man, free as the wind, who is looking for neither.
"From the indifferent and annoying hum of the surrounding city, Taipei, to the squeak of shoes on the brand-new parquet floor, from one to the other, the tone of Vive l'amour is set, impassive and grating, which is the first strangeness of a film that is indebted both to a certain type of modern film – incommunicability, vacuity -, and to a distinctly more burlesque genre (but in fact, nothing prevents anyone from thinking that this modern type of film has not always lacked humour, even from finding it funny sometimes)”.
