Casque audio de l'exposition "Les Immatériaux"
1985
These wireless headphones are a prototype developed by Philips that were used for the first time in the exhibition "Les lmmatériaux".
A pair of headphones was given to each visitor when they entered the exhibition. The tour was punctuated by 31 sound zones with infrared transmitters that emitted a soundtrack composed of excerpts from literary or philosophical texts read by actors and accompanied by an original music created by the IRCAM. The sound isolated each visitor and helped create a complex sensorium, guiding the public by sound as well as sight and bringing together several strata of information.
