ln this image showing concrete seats in a courtyard in the city of Arad, Sharon Ya'ari focuses on the remains of modernist architecture in Israel. The work evokes the migration of concepts linked with the Bauhaus and New Objectivity, which were bath forced to flee Europe after being threatened in Nazi Germany. Beyond architectural styles, these movements embodied, for a time, the hope for social reform and the construction of a new society. This work shows that even the most everyday places can be loaded with meaning.
