Margarita Paksa is one of the main representatives of Argentinean conceptual art. Her work is full of oppositions – presence/absence, emptiness/fullness, disclosure/concealment – and implicitly reflects the political situation in Argentina during the Sixties and Seventies. The barely perceptible word “No” carries heavy symbolic weight. This piece evinces the spirit of resistance typical of Paksa’s work, particularly the “Secret Writings” series to which it belongs.
