Architect Marc Fornes is also the founder of THEVERYMANY, a New-York based design studio and collaborative research forum. He explores the possibilities of computational architecture using Rhino 3D design software with its Rhinoscript and Python languages. “I started to work on a specific piece for the Centre Pompidou as a hypothesis in the development of codes and other computational protocols for the generation of a morphology,” he explains. The programme not only generates complex assemblages through computation but also controls their production. Specially designed for the Museum, the life-size model *y/ Struct/Surf is based on investigations of the transformation of surface into structure, and structure into surface.
