The Watercone® provides access to drinking water. It contains a solar-powered distiller that makes it possible to collect between one and one and a half litres of water every day. Salt water or water unfit for human consumption is poured into the round receptacle in the base, coloured black to increase heat radiation. The water evaporates, condenses on the inner surface of the cone and runs into the integrated circular gutter. To recover the drinking water, the user unscrews the cap at the top of the cone, then turns it upside down like a bottle. Its designer has tested it in Yemen with the NGO Care.
