Dolmen 11
2014
Branzi's Dolmen ensemble forms part of his reflections on the "Primitive Metropolis" (2014), or humanity's awareness of "becoming animal".
For Andrea Branzi, the only way out of our neo-capitalist world is by returning to the archaic and magical dimension of objects. These "models" sometimes evoke a megalithic site, sometimes an enigmatic library of "signs". ln Dolmen 11, the erratic layout of stones and rugs is reminiscent of "mantra" motifs, the architecture being thought out in a ritual manner based on objects. ln each model, a contorted character seems to be in a state of transformation between man and animal.
