Here colour throbs at a syncopated rhythm that takes the form of Gothic lace before it flows irresistibly into cavities and pockets.
While painting in 1960, the artist developed an interest in images produced by interactions between immiscible fluids. He photographed and filmed these phenomena. He also collaborated with projections on the décor for ballets by Maurice Béjart. Consisting of abstract images in psychedelic colours and a musical excerpt from Messe pour le temps présent by Pierre Henry and Michel Colombier, Giraglia dates from this period.
