First Person Leaky

Rosa Aiello finds most of her sounds, images and inspirations on the Internet. Through film and writing she creates a language that recycles and subtly combines to its own ends the cultures of digital animation, popular cinema and the new narratives of subjectivity. From its title onward, First Person Leaky evokes a worrying indiscreetness, the leakage of the subject into a space without landmarks or exit. What we are presented with is a story from the life of Cathy Massiter, an intelligence officer responsible for illicit telephone bugging under the Thatcher government. Recurrent comedy and semantic instability testify to the vagaries of subjectivity in virtual space.
