In her series of works “after” in 2006, Lucy McKenzie pays tribute to important figures of Art Nouveau. In After G. Hobe, Salon Library for the Great Exhibition, 1902, she blows up to life size a preparatory drawing by Antoine Pompe and Georges Hobé for a study to be shown at the Turin Exhibition of 1902. Through this change of scale she seeks to capture the essence of the Art Nouveau movement, recreating its atmosphere.
