Temps Mort

Mohamed Bourouissa’s work is the fruit of an immersion in social reality. The film Temps mort, whose title is taken from the rapper Booba, is made up from little videos recorded on mobile phone over a period of nine months by two prisoners following the instructions of the artist, who later assembled them. These everyday fragments reveal the constrained body and suspended time of life in prison. Testimony to digital obsolescence, these low-resolution images confer intimacy to the scenes presented. The role of the artist is desacralised in a form of collaborative production.
