Youth, in the “lsouian” sense used by Maurice Lemaître in this film, does not consist solely of students.
According to Isidore Isou, it includes “all individuals, whatever their age, who have not yet attained their position, who agitate and fight to achieve the desired degree of agency". Also called “externals" youth is reliant on the “internals” a social group of active individuals contributing to the economy of the country. lndicating the key role of youth and organising the fusion of the political and the artistic, the Lettrists laid down the premises for theories that would support the demands of the Internationale situationniste and those of the movements of May 68.
