Affiche Le design
1969
In 1969, Swiss graphic designer Jean Widmer was in charge of creating the visual identity and exhibition posters for the Centre for lndustrial Creation (CCI).
Founded on archetypes of elementary forms, Jean Widmer's approach is based on the elaboration of a modular grid consisting of 12 squares that he varied to produce 21 posters for different exhibition projects. He reserved the upper quarter of the poster for text and the lower three quarters for graphics. This graphic unity thus enabled the CCI to be rapidly identifiable with its recognisable range of bright contrasting colours and the use of synthetic geometric principles representing the symbolic system of the different subjects while retaining a visual consisteney from one poster to another.
