Cathryn Boch treats paper as if it were skin. She pumices, scratches and pierces it to reveal its fragility.
Since 2004 , French artist Cathryn Boch has preferred drawing to ail other media. After a residence in Lithuania in 2006, she started using yarn in her works, to the point that the sewing machine actually replaced pen and pencil. She sews paper as if tattooing or scarifying skin. The needle takes the yarn through the sheet of paper, damaging it, sometimes mending it, bandaging
it and repairing it, producing strange pictures resulting from the cotton yarn's winding way.
