"An Art in which Colour and Form are inextricably linked."(Manifesto of the Groupe Espace)
ln line with the experiments conducted by modern architects between the two wars, André Bloc's artistic experimentation led him to create furniture. He made many models, most of which remained at the prototype stage. For his house in Meudon, Bloc designed furniture that was integrated into the architecture. The organic and dynamic forms of the Bellevue chair testify to the influence of Scandinavian design, particularly Alvar Aalto. The seat-back is made of glossy, S-shaped moulded plywood. The base is made of stainless steel.
