Art Bubble
1972
At first a theorist, critic and publisher, Géza Perneczky began his career as an artist when he left Hungary for Germany in the early 1970s, with a series of some ten photographs addressing the very concept of art. For these he created minimalist scenes at home or in the open air in which the word “art” was applied to different objects. In this triptych he shows himself blowing soap bubbles in which the word appears to be reflected. Half wonder and half scientific curiosity, this childlike play with reflection opened up for the artist a whole field of artistic creation.
