The "sense of inhabiting" is essential for a cooperative architecture that respects its inhabitants.
Lucien Kroll developed a participatory approach that was rooted in social reality, the antithesis of functionalism. Both utopian and perfectly embedded in a cultural context, his experimental and collaborative approach reflected many of today's concerns. He was a visionary whose work led to the emergence of projects in which people were at the heart of his reflections.
A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure de La Cambre, he placed emphasis on the relationships between individuals and their environment and involved them in the design of the latter.
