While defining herself primarily as a sculptor, the American artist Trisha Donnelly makes use of all kinds of media – drawing, audio, video, writing and performance as well as sculpture. Her works, most often untitled and without other explanation, appeal to the viewer’s intuition rather than judgment. They are pervaded by a sense of phantomatic appearance and disappearance. Perceptual flux, information, image generation: in this untitled film that dissolves both the linearity of time and the distinction between freeze frame and movement, it is the very production of the visible that is made enigmatically manifest in its three moments in their continuous loop.
