In the deceptive guise of a museum display, Work, Made-ready, In light of Nature weaves a complex narrative linking Rome and Berlin through the diverse objects presented: photographer Karl Blossfeldt’s bronze models of plants, a Roman foundry, a bike frame, and a deconstucted greenupholstered aluminium chair. The result of this transmutative operation is “neutralised” by the standardised display. Playing on the interpenetration of scholarly and popular registers, the artist presents a work both conceptual and hand-made, objective yet activated by the narratives associated with the objects.
