Schizoframes
2003
Céleste Boursier-Mougenot produces works which generate what he describes as “living” sonorous forms. schizoframes creates an environment in which the visitor is invited to feel and perceive infra-deep frequencies derived from abstract video images screened on walls. These images were produced from the feed-back process used in video art and which deploys constantly changing patterns. The sound which develops at the same time as the video images scroll down the walls derives from the conversion of images into sound frequencies. What the eye sees, the ear hears and the body perceives seems to stem from a cybernetic dysfunction, the product of a poetic and hypnotic language unknown to, and unrecognized by, a technology that has become schizophrenic.
