The main theme of Giangiacomo D'Ardia's architectural research is the intervention of the historical city through its monumental architecture. His ink and watercolour drawings seek to build a disciplinary knowledge in which the project is a logical operation growing from the existing city. His references to classical language blend with detail features (staircases, porches, cornices, balconies and passageways). The Piazza Matteotti in Vicenza is an award winning project.
