"Film? An extra curiosity. You cannot be an artist if you're not curious."
Pure forms, lights and contrasts: Edgard Pillet retained the main principles of geometric abstraction and used them with the Groupe Espace, where he became Communications Manager. ln 1951 he made Genèse (Genesis), an animated film composed image by image from geometrical forms on paper, shifted, inclined, superimposed and multiplied. The process was in the tradition of German and Russian films like Hans Richter's Rythmus 21 (1921). Everything is movement and dizziness. Genèse also testifies to a pictorial creation in the process of being made.
