Could the Mightylight lamp be the solution for all those with no access to electricity? This portable lamp is the result of a cooperative venture between Amit Chugh from India and Matthew Scott from America. Powered by solar energy, the Mightylight was designed to be easily hung on a ceiling or wall, or to travel around. It is produced at Gurgaon, near New Delhi. The lamp originated from the «Removal from Darkness» programme of the Design for Extreme Affordability workshop, a programme developed at Stanford University (Palo Alto, California) with support from a Canadian NGO.
