Moholy-Nagy uses little incisions and dabs of paint to exploit the transparency of his medium.
ln exile in Chicago in 1937, László Moholy-Nagy founded the New Bauhaus, where he revived the spirit of the famous school: the union of art and design. Mills 1 attests to it, as it is part of a series in which the artist uses Plexiglas, a very new material. lncised on each side of the transparent plate, the lines create a disturbing interplay of shadows that are as clear as a drawing. lndependently of the two large curves crossing the composition, small polychrome elements placed in perspective consolidate the effect of depth.
