Poem
[1963 - 1965]
"I wanted the rhythm, like verses, to be more independent and more connected at the same time, and I wanted them to have lines like meanings, but plastic meanings."
ln the 1960s, Saloua Raouda Choucair made a series of modular sculptures inspired by Sufi poetry. For this sculpture-poem, the Lebanese artist created six stone modules that represent verses or stanzas. They can be stacked in different ways, depending on the harmony desired, to form a whole, or considered as separate sculptures.
