Théière
1930 - 1934
Thanks to modern heat-resistant glass, this set with its voluptuous forms conceals none of its content, nor of its container.
A fervent defender of the Bauhaus principles of simplicity and functionality, Wilhelm Wagenfeld exploited the character of the material. Unlike the Japanese ceramic teapots which inspired him, he showcased all the elements comprising the teapot and the teacups of this set. He designed many glass objects for the Jenaer Glaswerke Schott & Genossen company, where he worked as artistic director from 1930 to 1935.
