As a journey through the old and modern districts of Moscow, this documentary shows a day in the lite of Muscovites ten years after the October Revolution.
ln 1922, Mikhaïl Kaufman formed the Kinoki ("cinema-eye" in Russian) group with his brothers, directors Boris Kaufman and Dziga Vertov and Elisaveta Svilova. ln their films, reality is seen from the point of view of the machine, rather than people. Kaufman later worked alone on filming and directing many documentaries on everyday lite in the Soviet Union, such as this film, Moscow, whose time frame from dawn until dusk made it the first of a new genre called "city symphonies".
