Asked to describe his work, Navid Nuur speaks of “interimodules”, highlighting their temporary nature and avoiding too rigid a classification. Training Theory, a drawing produced on sandpaper with a wooden object, illustrates the meaning of the term in exploring the overlaps between drawing, sculpture and performance. Introducing the notion of space-time, the work, which interacts with its environment and the viewer’s movement through it, pushes back the limits of perception and integrates the fourth dimension: “The result is not confined within an object,” says the artist, “being rather an expanded mental space, the location of the art.”
