Lifestraw is a straw that enables you to drink water anywhere at all. It was developed by the Danish textile company Vestergaard Frandsen. Founded in 1957, Vestergaard Frandsen has worked on developing filters for over ten years in collaboration with the Carter Centre. The Lifestraw, an individual straw acclaimed by the Design Index award in 2005, contains seven internal filters that eliminate 99% of bacteria from around 700 litres of water. The World Health Organisation has already distributed over 10 million of them.
