In Andrea Branzi’s own words, Fare e non fare, vedere e non parlare (Doing and not doing, seeing and not speaking) is the cartoon version of the Città Estrusa (Extruded City), a continuous, homogeneous structure without qualities. The first frames stage the confrontation between the micro-dimension of the human – caught inside consumer society, inside politics, architecture, the news machine – with the macro-dimension of the capitalist system. In the second part, the “circle” of the “extruded city” is shown as a trap, a wart, a ruin, a force that divides the word, a place to worship where to kill yourself, or the beginning of the Revolution.”
