This work is based on the participation of the visitor who imagines and continues the story of these objects laden with the identity of the women who gave them to the artist.
ln Cairo, her home town, Susan Hefuna met with women and asked ta give her an abject of persona! significance to them. These items were then displayed in showcases reminiscent of travelling stores,first in the streets of the Egyptian capital and then in museums around the world. The word "afaf" refers to a persan who is "unknown","not mentioned" and "not heard". These persona! abjects reveal the daily life of these housewives, sometimes isolated.
