This work, a simple reproduction of the Bitcoin logo (copyright-free), was withdrawn from the SuperRare sales platform in 2020.

At an interval of more than a century, this exclusion replays Marcel Duchamp's ready-made controversy. As a work of appropriation, Bitcoin questions the criteria of artistic value on crypta art platforms. A declaration inscribed in the description of the token sums up the attitude concisely: "This image is in the public domain and free for commercial use and in this case, art." Echoing Warhol's Dollar Sign (1981), the work prompts debate on the transfer of the art market to the blockchain.
