Charrière's work questions the domains of environmental science and cultural history. His projects arise out of trips to the heart of isolated regions in order to highlight the environmental disasters generated by man in the Anthropocene Era. This work documents an intervention in lceland in the course of whichnthe artist used a gas lamp to melt the iceberg he had climbed. His silhouette in the posture of a conqueror and at the same time tiny and fragile reminds us of the ambiguity of our relationship with nature.
